A CURATED SELECTION OF THAI ARTISANAL GOODS
TAAN Unveils First-Ever “Local Pride” Hamper Showcasing the Uniqueness of Thai Artisanal Goods
TAAN, one of Bangkok’s leading modern Thai restaurants, is proud to welcome the season of giving with a brand-new festive hamper offering a curated selection of Thai artisanal goods.
In preparation for the restaurant’s imminent reopening soon, the “Local Pride” hamper continues TAAN’s philosophy of supporting local artisans and showcasing unique Thai flavours.
TAAN Executive Chef Monthep “Thep” Kamolsilp has curated a special selection of Thai artisanal goods sourced from all corners of Thailand from north to south, east to west. This uniquely Thai twist on a festive hamper comprises some Chef Thep’s under-the-radar favourites, from sugar that showcases Thailand’s diversity to uniquely prepared nuts, longan and chocolate – each with their own story to tell.
“We have attempted to replicate the warmth and joy traditionally associated with festive hampers while working only with the freshest Thai ingredients. These 100% local treasures far exceed their imported counterparts, showcasing invaluable, hyper-local methods and know-how. With the TAAN Hamper, you not only reduce your footprint but help support local careers,” said Chef Thep.

Taste the best Thailand has to offer with sugar sourced from around Thailand, whether it’s Thap Sakae coconut sugar from Prachuap Khiri Khan, Phu Sang black cane sugar from Phayao or cane sugar from Chanthaburi.
Take your tastebuds on a trip to Ranong with Cashew Nuts from Kayu Phao Cooperative Group, who use traditional methods of burning the nuts in the shell before baking the seeds. The result: a creamy and sweet delight.
Also included in the hamper are Chiang Rai’s Leesoaw Macadamia Nuts, which are planted in agroforestry together with coffee and tea at a high altitude of 1,000 metres above sea level. “I guarantee you these are the freshest macadamia nuts you’ve ever tasted. Most you find at the supermarket take a long time to be imported but these are freshly produced, super-crispy and nourishing with just the right oiliness,” said Chef Thep.
Just like TAAN, sustainability is central to Pridi Cacaofevier’s operations. Highlighting the diversity of Thai cocoa, Pridi works with farmers in Chanthaburi, Lampang and Chumphon. The cocoa is carefully processed and ground for five days to obtain chocolate with different profiles.
Another impeccable selection for winter is the Sithong Longan made with Lamphun Biao Khiao Longan, which is a geographical indication (GI) assigned product that is only grown in Lamphun province. “This dried longan is chewy and soft, bringing with it a warm, wintery aroma that’s ideal for the festive period. It’s a perfect snack by itself, or you could even enjoy it with a strong cheese and a glass of wine,” Chef Thep suggested.

The TAAN “Local Pride” Hamper is available in two options: 5 products, 990 baht or 7 products, 1,590 baht.
